Wholesale Distribution Business. SUPERVALU is a wholesaler that supplies company-owned stores and stores owned by independent retail operators with products ranging from deli, bakery, produce, fresh meats, dairy, frozen and grocery to household cleaning supplies and health and beauty products. The company buys these products directly from manufacturers and growers. SUPERVALU resells and generally delivers product to retail grocery stores and chains that do not have the resources to move product directly from manufacturers. SUPERVALU believes that their success is dependent upon the ability of the stores of their wholesale customers to compete successfully. For this to happen, SUPERVALU offers wholesale customers a wide variety of food and non-food products, including national and regional brands, and their own extensive lines of private label products. SUPERVALU also offers a broad array of professional services that provide wholesale customers with cost-effective and scalable solutions. These services include pass-through programs in which vendors provide services directly to our wholesale customers, as well as services and solutions we develop and provide directly. SUPERVALU services include retail store support, advertising, couponing, e-commerce, network and data hosting solutions, training and certifications classes, and administrative back-office solutions.
